There is a $15.00 administration fee per child for all non-Iowa Medicaid children receiving vaccinations through our immunization clinics.  We accept cash, check, credit or debit cards for payment at this time. In addition, we are unable to accept children with Hawk-I coverage.  These children should be taken to their physician for immunizations.

STI/HIV Clinic Services

Eligibility Requirement/Cost:

Services are provided free of charge to anyone seeking STI/HIV testing.  A fee for service may sometimes be charged depending on certain tests requested.  The clinic staff will review this information with you prior to testing.


Types of Testing Offered:

  •          Chlamydia
  •          Gonorrhea
  •          Syphilis
  •          HIV
  •          Trichomonas (females only)


How to participate:

The STI/HIV clinic is located at Siouxland District Health Department by the Laboratory towards the back of the building.  Appointments are required by calling 712-279-6119 and asking for appointment scheduling.  Sometimes, walk-in clients can be accommodated, but it is best to have an appointment.


What to expect:

In the laboratory area, check in for your appointment at your scheduled time by ringing the door bell next to the lab door.

  •          Staff will take you to a private room to wait for the clinician.
  •          The clinician will complete your registration information and will review your medical history.  Tests will be determined by medical history.
  •          All information is HIPPA protected.
  •          The clinician will discuss your care and will offer an examination.  During the examination, the clinician will explain everything that is being done and why.
  •          Based on your discussion with the clinician and your examination, your clinician may decide to treat you at your visit before your results come back. Some patients may need to be treated after test results are back.
  •          The clinic will contact all clients with their results.  If a result is positive, a follow-up appointment will be scheduled if the client hasn’t already received correct treatment.


How long does it take?

Expect your visit to take at least 30-45 minutes.  Longer wait times are possible, but uncommon.  Please understand we will spend as much time with you as needed.



Free condoms are available in our bathrooms towards the front of the building or through your clinic visit.
