Emergency Preparedness & Health Care Coalition PDF Print E-mail

SDHD is active in preparing for and responding to emergencies that occur in Woodbury County and our region in northwest Iowa.

Emergency preparedness is a community effort and SDHD plans with local health care providers, hospitals, and emergency planners and responders on a regular basis.  We plan, train, cooperate, exercise and support each other’s unique roles in helping our community navigate emergencies.  SDHD is also a member of the local Joint Information Center (JIC) that help coordinate communications during emergencies.

In addition to local efforts, SDHD coordinates a regional health care coalition that includes members from Monona, Ida, Cherokee, Plymouth, Sioux, O’Brien, Lyon and Osceola counties.

If your organization is interested in connecting with the health care coalition, contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
