• People interested in paternity testing should contact one of the private companies listed below for more information.
• These companies will explain the testing procedures, discuss costs, and answer questions.
• Once an agreement is made between the client and the company, the DNA testing company will contact SDHD to set up the collection.
• SDHD is only able to collect samples for individuals whose test has been ordered by a testing company.  

SDHD does not endorse any particular company, but a few of the companies that we work with are linked below. The list is not exhaustive and there are many different companies that do this type of testing.

• Appointments must be scheduled by a testing company.
• SDHD will collect DNA samples for companies other than Lab Corp and DDC.
• We recommend that DNA companies contact SDHD by phone so that collection details can be understood.

Test results are typically available 2 to 3 weeks after collection.  You will receive your results from the DNA testing company that ordered your test.  If you haven't received any results, you will need to contact the DNA testing company for more information.  Siouxland District Health Department does not receive any results regarding DNA collections.
